The Charter Horn
The Charter Horn given to the City by Alfred the Great in 886 as a symbol of the Charter. Started life as a basic horn but over the years has be come adorned, covered in velvet and capped with solid silver. Not blown any more and is kept in a secure vault in the Town Hall
